As summer quickly approaches, everyone is itching to get outside and make some memories. Once of the things we love about our community are all of the great ways we can do just that. To help you narrow it down, here are some of the best 2019 summer events near Troy, Missouri:
Cruise for a Cause
Noon to 5 p.m., May 11, Troy City Park. Classic car lovers can spend a day surrounded by other car enthusiasts, all while supporting a good cause. It is $10 to enter the cruise, and free to attend as a spectator. There will be a DJ, raffle tickets, food and drinks available. All of the money raised from the event will go to Lincoln County Roadrunners Special Olympics. For more information, visit the group’s Facebook page here.
4 to 8 p.m., New Town Amphitheater, Saint Charles. Celebrate spring at this German spring festival with craft beer, food, music and more. Tickets are $18-$25 and available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/midwest-maifest-tickets-57833000060?aff=ebdssbcitybrowse
7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., May 15, Lincoln County Fairgrounds. The 20th annual senior fair honors and helps the area’s senior citizens. It will feature vendors, a continental breakfast and prizes. Admission is free.
BCI Wing Ding
5 to 9 p.m. June 20, St. Charles Family Arena Parking lot. The 21st annual wing ding and barbecue fling features all you can eat chicken wings and barbecue from area restaurants, drinks and entertainment. Tickets start at $35 and must be purchased in advance. Must be 21 to attend. Sugar Grove’s 40th Birthday Party
10 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 22, Sugar Grove Growers, Celebrate this Troy business’ 40th birthday with fun for the whole family. The day’s festivities will include a watermelon eating contest, balloon artist, prizes, and snacks. The event is free.
Lincoln County Fair
July 9-13, Lincoln County Fairgrounds, Troy. Don’t miss out on one of the community’s biggest events of the year! Check out a livestock show, truck/tractor pull, demolition derby, support local youth and artists at the exhibits, or take a ride on the midway. The fair will wrap up with Jake Shafer and Scotty McCreery in concert on Saturday, July 13. Jake Shafer will open at 7:30, and headliner Scotty McCreery will take the stage at about 9 p.m. All concerts are included with admission into the fair. Tickets are available at the gate and are $8 for children 5-12. Children 4 and under get in free every day. Tuesday, July 10, is Kids Night, so all children 12 and under get in free with an adult admission. Adult admission is $10 on Tuesday and Thursday, $15 on Wednesday, and $20on Friday and Saturday.
